the sedans, despite the growth of SUVs, they still maintain a strong presence and are valued for their fuel economy and agile handling. On the other hand, pickups have also experienced a significant increase in demand, due to the growth in industrial activity and the boom in delivery and logistics businesses.
“From the product side, we will move into a new era of power and a more diverse product chain that includes the Arrizo sedan and pickups,” Alex Lee, Chirey’s director of operations in the Americas, said during a media briefing this week.
Since her debut in the country on July 19, 2022, Chirey has established more than 60 agencies across the country and has achieved sales of around 3,000 units per month. Today the Chinese brand, owned by the Chery Group, has more than 30,000 Mexican customers. By entering these new segments, Chirey will seek to attract a broader group of clients and conquer 5% of the market in its second year in the country.
Under the leadership of Bryan Wu, Executive Vice President of Chirey Mexico, the brand designed a strategic plan, called “Chirey 2.0 Strategy”, which will focus on diversifying its product line, expanding its distribution network and adopting new energy technologies.
The brand recently added a plug-in hybrid model to its portfolio, Tiggo 8 Pro e+which is based on the flagship Tiggo 8 Pro Max, and which with a price of 979,900 pesos arrives to compete head-on with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
Tiggo 8 Pro e+, the first plug-in hybrid
Ricardo Arvizu, Chirey Product Manager, explained during the presentation that this model has three engines, all located in the front of the vehicle. One of them is a turbocharged 1.5-liter internal combustion engine, while the other two are electrified engines that are primarily responsible for moving the vehicle. The combination of these three engines results in a power output of 307 horsepower and a torque of 376 pound-feet.
Although it weighs almost two tons, it reaches an acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 7.2 seconds.
Tiggo 8 Pro e+ has a 19.27 kWh battery with a range of up to 75 kilometers in 100% electric driving mode.

Chirey has also made clear his interest in build a factory in Mexico, which would strengthen its presence in the region.
“We are looking at the possibility of a factory in Mexico to promote our business throughout Latin America and future growth in the United States and Canada. All of this would help support a long-term operation in Mexico and make Chirey a more localized automotive brand in Mexico,” Lee said.
