Talent is a valuable resource and increasingly difficult to find in the labor market, therefore, analyzing trends and implementing strategies to retain it is essential. A solid business culture requires a set of values, practices and beliefs that define both the organization and its collaborators. Therefore, from Computrabajo we decided to evaluate how often people change jobs, to understand the factors in making this decision.
Labor flexibility and salary, the key points?
For most of the participants (44.8%), the improvement in salary is the main factor for making a job change. In parallel, 31% seek professional growth that they cannot achieve in their current positions. Given this situation, how can companies deal with the brain drain?
If salary and professional growth are the reasons why a collaborator seeks to change jobs, What are the factors why an employee would resist changing jobs? What strategies improve the retention rate of companies?
Work-life balance or goodbye
According to the survey, 32% of people who decide to start a new job position every two years will extend their stay in companies if they are allowed to have a work-life balance; followed by the proximity of your place of work to your residence. On the other hand, if we compare them with those who have only changed jobs two or three times throughout their professional career, 28% agree with the balance between professional and personal life as the most important elementand the second reason why they choose to stay in companies is that their work makes them enjoy and feel proud.
Labor flexibility, the most attractive factor
Cases such as Bimbo, Grupo Xcaret or Banregio, winners of the Best WorkPlaces Computrabajo 2023, are examples of an attractive work culture. These companies have built programs to maintain a healthy work environment, good professional development of their employees, a clear focus on DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) policies, and a commitment to social responsibility.
Thus, a strong work culture can attract employees who are looking for a sense of purpose and belonging in their work; If we add labor flexibility to this, workers can be helped to feel satisfied and improve their sense of commitment and loyalty to the company, increasing their permanence in it.
