A group of Amazon workers are asking Andy Jassy, CEO of the company, to reconsider returning to the offices on May 1. Last Friday, Jassy informed his workers that Amazon needs all corporate staff “at least three days a week in the office starting May 1.”
New Amazon Policy
For Jassy, this return to the offices would strengthen the company and strengthen the company culture. This measure completely changes the policy implemented in October 2021 due to the pandemic, which left it up to managers to decide the frequency of work teams in the office.
Since then, the company has had a hybrid job, days at home working and days at the office. Since Andy Jassy’s announcement, workers have created a channel to try to mediate the CEO’s decision. According to screenshots seen by CNBC, nearly 14,000 employees want Jassy to reverse his decision.
Request to Andy Jassy
Amazon workers also put out a written petition, directed at Jassy and the team, asking them to drop the new policy because it “goes against” Amazon’s positions “on diversity and inclusion, affordable housing, sustainability, and focused to be the Best Employer on Earth,” explains cnbc.com.
“We, the undersigned, call on Amazon to protect its role and status as a global leader in technology and retail by immediately canceling the RTO policy and issuing a new policy that allows employees to work remotely or remotely. more flexible, if they so choose. As your team and job title allow,” the draft obtained by Business Insider read.
