As of today, five of the top 10 hospitals in the world are located in the United States and only one is not located on the North American continent or in Europe.
These last two years of the pandemic have been a real challenge for hospitals and other medical institutions around the world, a period of health crisis that, however, has not yet come to an end.
Although it is true that everything can change from one moment to another, because with this virus, in reality, you never know, reality dictates that we would have to learn from experience, which is why medical institutions around the world, in In theory, they should be prepared for a possible outbreak of Covid-19.
Of course, there are hospitals and other medical institutions that have more resources and from this perspective, Statista and Newsweek have carried out a joint analysis comparing more than 2,200 hospitals around the worldin order to identify which are the best that currently exist.
To prepare this analysis, surveys were conducted of more than 80,000 medical experts in 27 countries, in addition to data such as patient safety, infection prevention measures and the ratio of doctors per patient.
As the graph above shows, five of the best hospitals in the world are located in the United States; three of the 10 that make up the list are in Europe (Germany, France and Sweden); only one is located neither in North America nor Europe, but in Israel.
In positions number one, two and three, respectively, are the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester; the Cleveland Clinic, in Cleveland; and the Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston.
According to information from the American Hospital Association, as of 2019, the United States had a total of 6,100 hospitals, a figure that would have made it the the third country with the largest number of medical institutions among the main OECD countriesonly below Japan and Colombia.
