Last week’s UK video game sales data was released this Monday and we had reported that 80% of Elden Ring sales had been on PlayStation consoles, but this only took physical sales into account. Today we finally have the digital sales data and we can see that the difference was not so abysmal, well 84% of Elden Ring sales on Xbox were digital.
Since the physical sales data was revealed it has become clear that both Xbox and PC are primarily digital platforms, and the full Elden Ring data bears this out. Taking into account physical and digital sales, we can see that of the total the 41% correspond to sales on PS4 or PlayStation 5while PC represents 30% and Xbox 29%.

It is clear that PlayStation remains the platform of choice for FromSoftware fans, but the difference with Xbox users is not as abysmal as it was believed a few days ago. According to Christopher Dring of GamesIndustry.biz, 84% of Elden Ring sales on Xbox were digital, while on PlayStation it was 50%.
This has been a hugely successful launch for FromSoftware in the UK, with Elden Ring being the biggest launch in years if we don’t count FIFA or Call of Duty. According to Dring, Elden Ring had a better launch than Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077, to name two big releases in the last two years.

This was to be expected considering that Elden Ring is a cross-platform game and Horizon Forbidden West is a PlayStation exclusive, but it still speaks to the success of FromSoftware’s new game.
