From the first months of age, your baby can learn good eating habits that will last a lifetime.
Your baby requires different nutritional elements at each stage of his life. From birth to four months of age, your diet should be made up of breast milk. But there are little ones that need other nutrients, that’s why it is combined with formula milk. The introduction of other types of food should be done according to the weight of your baby at birth and the evaluation of its growth and health. The Official Mexican Norm establishes that between 4 and 6 months of age, the introduction of different foods to milk should be started.
THE IDEAL
Specialists say that food should be started one by one for three days to see if it does not cause allergies. On the first day you should give a teaspoon, the second two and three the third of the same food. The rest of the meal should be milk. On the fourth day, you can give him another vegetable to try. To learn how to prepare a rich and healthy porridge, parents and children give you the following recommendations.
PREPARATION
1. Cook the vegetables and fruits in a little water, and with that same make the porridge.
2. The more ripe fruits are softer. You can start with the club, pear, banana and peach.
3. Pass the purees through a strainer, but do not strain the porridge.
4. For fine chops, use a sharp knife so that small pieces remain. The size should be in cubes of approximately 1/2 cm.
5. When you introduce chicken and meat, you prefer to use its juice to cook the preparations.
6. Avoid salt, sugar, lemon and other seasonings. It is important that your baby try them naturally so that he does not get used to the altered flavor that these ingredients give.
7. Cook small portions so that you eat as fresh as possible. For example, with 1/2 chayote you get the porridge for three or four days.
8. The porridge should not spend more than four days in the refrigerator. Vegetables can be frozen in ice containers and thawed as needed. Fruit juices should not be frozen as they lose some vitamins.
Remember that both breastfeeding and/or formula should be included throughout the first year of life since it is a complete food that includes vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates and fats, necessary for the optimal development of your little one
