- Host (2020. Prime Video). Rob Savage’s debut feature (Dashcam) introduces us to a group of friends who, bored by quarantine, decide to have a Ouija board session via Skype, with terrifying consequences. Using the ever-useful device of still cameras to tell a story, Host delivers a simple yet well-executed and terrifying story.
- Terrifier (2016. Prime Video). Its sequel is in fashion this season, so you can’t miss the first installment on Prime Video. Two friends decide to go home on Halloween Night, but they will end up being chased by a psychopathic killer dressed as a clown.
- The Ring (2002. HBO Max). Gore Verbinski brought this remake in 2002, which has nothing to envy the original Ringu (1998). Rachel is a journalist who must find out what is behind the death of her niece, after she sees a mysterious videotape.
- Thesis (1996. HBO Max). One of Alejandro Amenábar’s great works, Thesis takes us into the macabre world of snuff through its protagonist, Ángela, who is preparing a thesis on violence in cinema. Everything will go wrong when her guardian turns up dead.
- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022. Netflix). Reboot and sequel to the original film, Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe, Infernal Possession) brought this title exclusively to Netflix this year. The film maintains the essence of the original saga, without forgetting the new generations and plaguing its duration with blood and slaughter.
