We propose some activities to stimulate your child’s learning and help him to speak better.
Since they are babies, dads have to stimulate the communication development of their children. In order for children to develop language, in nursery school, they use different tools that can also be used at home.
Let’s talk!
1. Interactive games: the typical games of a lifetime, such as “Sawdust, sawdust”, “This went for firewood”, in which rhymes, gestures and the little one have to answer or continue a sentence are combined, they are very good at fostering communication.
2. Drawings and photos: Seeing and commenting with children on drawings and photos of everyday objects serves to expand their vocabulary. In addition to the drawing, you can also show them the real object, so that the association between the word and the object it represents is more powerful. You can also use family photos for the little one to identify and recognize mom, dad or grandparents.
3. Stories: you must use stories adapted to the child’s age. The activities that can be developed around a story are very varied: they can handle and read them themselves, listen to how they are told, or you can ask them where a specific object is in the illustrations.
4. Songs: the little ones love to listen to simple songs that have a well-marked rhythm. Taking advantage of this interest, it is easier for them to start saying the final syllable of a word, make the appropriate gestures and repeat whole parts of the song. They love being constantly repeated the same themes.
5. Chewing and sticking out the tongue: to develop oral language, it is essential for the child to do articulation and pronunciation exercises. Since their pediatrician authorizes it, the little ones must chew to strengthen their jaws. You can also play “Ms. Lengua’s visits”; Through easy and fun instructions, the kids exercise all the musculature that influences speech: “Now Ms. Lengua is going to visit the nose, now Ms. Barbilla; now she wants to go to Doña Oreja Izquierda’s house.”
6. Puppets and puppets: theater activities are very interesting as a form of communication, both for the interest they arouse and for the desire to answer them. Another way to improve language is to organize dress-up and role-play games.
