Just a couple of years ago, 5G networks were talked about as the next great technological advance that would change the entire world.
Since then, various brands and governments have worked to make this networking a reality, and these efforts seem to be paying off right now.
At least that is what the graph of the day shows, which shows the worldwide advance of this technology that promises to be crucial to optimize all kinds of businesses in the immediate future.
With data provided by GSA 5G Snapshot, the graph shows the progress of 5G networks by adoption phase, where, for example, it is estimated that in North America, 5G networks have reached such a degree of manduration that they have already been launched commercially. Various countries in South America, Europe, Asia and Oceania are in this condition.
These regions are followed by those in which 5G networks have begun to be deployed at least in a test format where much of Africa is in this position.
Finally, there are those countries where the adoption of these new networks is still basic and are at a time where attracting and distributing investment is the main concern, at this time. Mexico is within the latter group.
Fifth generation networks (better known as 5G networks) are a technology that, in general terms, is designed to improve internet connection speed and minimize latency -network response time-.
With this, new fields will be opened to generate business by capitalizing the number of connected devices, which by 2025 are expected to exceed 100 billion terminals (Statsita).
For example, according to Intel, thanks to this technology in just under a decade, annual mobile media revenues will double to reach $ 420 billion by 2028 globally.
Similarly, with regard to mobile advertising, it is expected that thanks to these networks a new market will be generated with a value of 178 billion dollars by 2028.
Nations that successfully embrace and capitalize on these advances will greatly benefit.
For example, according to the forecasts of the European Commission, the deployment of the new 5G networks will mean an investment of 56 billion euros for Europe and the creation of 2.3 million jobs, which will translate into an increase in wealth of the region of more than 141 billion euros.
So far, Huawei ranks as the leading company in the field, with a total of 11,423 contributions. Close by is Ericsson with 10,351 contributions, while Hisilicon does the same with 7,248.
