FromSoftware announced about future DLC and possibly an Elden Ring expansion, something that a lot of people are already waiting for, as this game has become one of the biggest games of 2022, both in terms of sales and critical reception. For those of you who have already made it to any of the Elden Ring endings, you’re sure to be looking forward to finding extra content in the future, and knowing what extras might be coming to the game in the coming months.
With the Elden Ring expansion not yet officially announced, there’s no telling when it’s coming out, but at least we know more content is coming. However, comparing the release dates of their first DLC you can estimate a possible release date of additional content for Elden Ring. Dark Souls: 11 months to Artorias of the Abyss DLC, Dark Souls 2: 3 months to Crown of the Sunken King DLC, Bloodborne: 8 months to The Old Hunters DLC, Dark Souls 3: 7 months to Ashes of Ariandel DLC and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice: 1 year and 7 months.
If these examples set a precedent, they suggest that we will have previews of the first expansion of Elden Ring in the course of the yearor at least we will hear about it.

5 Things Fans Are Asking For The First Elden Ring Expansion
At this point we can only speculate on what an Elden Ring expansion might include. The previous FromSoftware DLCs tend to focus on time traveleither jumping backwards or forwards in world history to experience significant events, and fighting the Dragonlord Placidusax in Elden Ring allows you to go back in time, so they’re clearly not opposed to these sorts of ideas.
The history of Elden Ring is rich in important events that have been referenced, and it would be fascinating to be able to experience them for ourselves. Another possibility is that the developers do something with the zones that already exist in the game, opening and changing them so that the player can participate in them. Here are some possibilities that many Elden Ring fans believe can or should be part of a future Elden Ring expansion.
The Colosseums
Elden Ring has numerous Colosseums scattered throughout the game., towering arena-like buildings in Limgrave, Caelid, and Leyndell that cannot be accessed legitimately. However, some players have used less legal mechanics and found arena-like areas within them, leading many to believe that they will become PVP arenas in the future. This would explain why FromSoftware is constantly tweaking weapon balance prior to said update.
It’s clear that having all these giant, unique-looking buildings is an indication of something, especially when there doesn’t seem to be any history surrounding them yet.

The mysterious cloud between the Divine Towers
If you are one of those who have dedicated themselves to exploring all the mysteries that the Middle Lands have, you have surely discovered all the locations of the Divine Towers of the Elden Ring. What you may not have noticed, but many fans have, is that these Divine Towers converge perfectly around a central point. This point is a section of inaccessible ocean in the very center of the map, one covered and obscured by cloud.
And as many players have said, it turns out quite suspicious that we can not know what is in this section of the map. Perhaps we will see this mystery solved in the first Elden Ring expansion, and see that cloud disappear to reveal a new island, or something of the sort.
michael’s egg
Despite never having seen it properly, Miquella is a significant character in the Elden Ring story., Malenia’s demigod brother, who was cursed to an eternal childhood and tried to heal himself before being kidnapped by Mohg, Lord of Blood. Miquella is now in a permanent torpor, and can actually be found in the Mohg boss fight arena, inside an egg-shaped cocoon with one arm sticking out of it.
Ofnir suggests at one point that Miquella better keep sleeping. This story is precisely one of the requests from many fans to be developed in depth in the first expansion of Elden Ring looking towards a possible future in which Miquella would have woken up and caused a great commotion in the Middle Lands.
The tear and the night of the black knives
Two different events, but very related: the Night of the Black Knives was the night in which a group of assassins snuck into the Midlands and killed a group of demigods, including Marika’s son, Godwyn. This, in turn, caused a domino effect that led to the Destruction, a great war between all the surviving demigods for the right to rule, most famously exemplified by the legendary battles between Malenia and General Radahn.
This epic conflict is the cause that turned Caelid into a ravaged hellscape. It was these events, in fact, that were the focal points of the Elden Ring story trailer, so many fans have said that they are worth exploring at least a bit. A trip back in time to experience that moment when the Midlands was set up as we experienced when playing the base game.
The Great Will and the Rise of Marika
Another possibility is to go back to the formation of the Middle Lands, where Marika appears in the realm of Numen, is chosen by the deity known as the Great Will and forms the Midlands together with his consort Godfrey, warring with giants, dragons, and sorcerers alike to expand the territory of the Great Will. Fans see this as an opportunity to explore a younger, newer version of the Middle Lands.
It would also be interesting being able to relate to essential characters like Marika, Godfrey, Radagon and Godwynimportant characters in the lore who only appear briefly in the main game.
