With the arrival of social networks, any aspect that catches the attention of users can go viral in just seconds, as happened with Craig, one of the Brutes that we saw in the first Halo Infinite gameplay more than one year.
Quickly, the character became the object of constant mockery, which served many people to attack the new installment starring the Master Chief. However, this has served so that the development of the title has improved enormously, hence now the folks at 343 Industries talk about their love-hate relationship with Craig.
343 Industries discusses love-hate relationship with Craig
In the update that the development team did a couple of days ago via Halo Waypoint, Steve Dyck, character and combat director for Halo Infinite, admitted that the team has a love-hate relationship feeling with Craig.
Steve Dyck: Haha, the team has a kind of love-hate relationship with Craig. While it was fun to see how the community gravitated towards Craig, he unfortunately represented some content and systems that weren’t ready for prime time in that demo. The positive result for Craig was that it was one of the factors to buy some more time to finish the job and lead the Brutes to a place where the team is happy with them. This is one of many positive examples of how 343 works and aligns with the Halo community around expectations. Players who look hard enough will be able to find some proof of Craig in Halo Infinite – his spirit lives on!
In the last gameplay of the Halo Infinite campaign, we could already see the improvement that had occurred, not only with the Brutes, but with many aspects of the game. Now we just have to wait until next December 8 to be able to control the Master Chief again.
