After talking long and hard about the news of MIUI 12, its dates and the mobiles that will be able to update, it is time to discover two new functions that we had overlooked and that are available in the beta of the customization layer. There are two options that will allow easier use of the device, will help you get more out of it and will leave us with a better user experience. Right now you can only try MIUI 12 in beta, but the Global and stable update will start to arrive to a large part of Xiaomi mobiles soon.
Simpler, more advanced screenshots with new gestures
Capturing the screen is something that Android users do almost every day for different reasons. It is a feature that is the order of the day and usually does not have many more options to share or cut. Xiaomi goes one step further with MIUI 12 and screenshots.
From the settings you can activate a ‘gesture’ that consists of making a long press with three fingers on the screen . The user can do this on any area of the screen to capture only part of it. After pressing, a small menu will open that allows you to resize the screenshot , round it, or even make it have a free form that we can draw ourselves.
Of course, there are also options to share with contacts, delete directly, and more. It is a function that comes to MIUI 12 by surprise and that will facilitate the use of screenshots, especially when the user wants to capture only part of it. Now it only remains for you to remember to use this function when your phone updates to MIUI 12.
Automatic brightness and contrast adjustment
It is very likely that one of the first things you do after buying a mobile or updating is to disable the automatic brightness adjustment of the screen. This setting rarely works the way you want, making it easier to turn it off and adjust the brightness to your liking in every situation.
You should know that MIUI 12 has a new intelligent brightness system adapted to its new dark mode. This automatic brightness not only takes care of modifying the brightness level of the panel, it also modifies the contrast so that the display is perfect in all possible environments. Xiaomi has worked hard to detect the different light scenes with the device’s sensors and give the user the perfect level of brightness and contrast.
We have not tried it yet, but we cannot deny that it seems very interesting. When you are using the device in the dark or at night, not only the brightness is a determining factor for the eyes, but also the contrast of the different elements of the screen. High contrast during a night session can cause eyestrain.
These two new MIUI 12 functions have seemed very interesting to us, as they were discovered with the arrival of the beta. Hopefully, both features will reach all devices that have MIUI 12, so you can expect them on yours.
What do you think of these new MIUI 12 features? Are you looking forward to trying them? Tell us more in the comments or on social media!
