Although we are always told that sharing passwords is something that should never be done, the reality is that it is a common practice, both in work environments, as at home with family, and even among friends and partners; Nevertheless, As much as you trust the person to whom you will give your password for any platform or service, it is very important that you do it safely.
An easy way to do this is through the password management platform 1Password, which has just announced a new function, with which it is possible share passwords safely, through a link, even with people who do not have an account in this service.
This new function has a very curious name: It is called “Psst”, which stands for Password Secure Sharing Tool, and apparently it is one of the most requested functions of the company, since the number of people who share login data is very large.

According to research by 1Password, most workers reuse corporate credentials. Of the people consulted, the 36% said they often share login data with other workers and customers, through insecure channels, including emails, chat apps, spreadsheets, documents, and text messages.
In another survey, 1Password found that most families also share passwords among their members and also use insecure methods, such as writing and sending them through instant messaging or SMS applications.
Psst helps avoid those unsafe channels and allows you to share passwords and login details with anyone by generating a link to the information, which the recipient can access, even if they do not have a 1Password account.
You can choose how long the link remains valid, from one hour to 30 days, after which it will automatically expire. You can also choose to share the credentials with anyone who has the link or just with specific people. If you choose the latter option, the service will require the recipient to confirm their identity by verifying their email address before granting them access.
1Password has launched this new feature along with the announcement that it now has over 100,000 business customers and that it is increasing its workforce to 500.
