After the departure of Daniel Craig, the 007 agent franchise faces a huge challenge: finding an actor who can fill its shoes. The search for the new james-bond will begin soon, and a producer of the long-running franchise has given more clues about what we can expect from the new performer.
Basically, don’t expect a young 007, because the characteristics of the character force an experienced actor to take over the character. This commented the producer Michael G Wilson in interview for dead line.
“We have tried to look at younger people in the past. But visualizing doesn’t work. Remember. Bond is already a veteran. He has had some experience. He is a person who has been through several wars, so to speak. He has probably been in the SAS (Special Air Service) or something. It’s not some kind of student you can bring in to start from scratch. That’s why it works for someone in their thirties.”
In the midst of the era of inclusion, many have wondered if there is a possibility for a james bond black. For fans, the first choice was Idris Elba (the suicide squad), however, both the actor and the producers declined the idea. The reason? They are looking for a younger actor, as his assignment as 007 is likely to last a decade.
The possibility of a gay bond, even Luke Evans spoke about it. However, it seems doubtful that such a blockbuster franchise would risk changing his character’s origins, especially given the tremendous criticism this would bring.
What Wilson did mention is that the character will suffer certain transformations in order to keep it valid for today’s society. In recent years, Bond has come under fire for his objectification of women in his films. Said aspect would be taken from a different perspective in the next tapes of the character.
Do you think the producer of James Bond is right and the character should not be played by a young actor? In any case, who would be the right one to take over as Bond… James Bond?
John Joseph Cruz I am one of those who always defended Robert Pattinson as Batman and can see the same movie in the cinema up to 7 times. My guilty pleasure? Low budget horror movies.
