In April of this year we told you about a talented group of developers known as “Team SCUWho were working hard on a 2D version of the hit Nintendo GameCube, Metroid Prime. Had as name ‘Prime 2D’, and at the time, the first demo of the game was already available. It was certainly something quite impressive, but unfortunately, the whole project has come to an end.
Through the Discord of the game it was revealed that “a certain video game company” warned his team that they should stop everything they were doing. The demo was also removed, along with the soundtrack. Team SCU They said this was the right decision, and they don’t regret doing it.
At this point, it’s easy to guess which company was behind the game’s shutdown. Hopefully, the project could see the light of day again, in such a way that it no longer makes use of the IP of Metroid.
