They were the two great protagonists of the 24 Hours of Spa. Ferrari # 51 managed to be first at 6:12 hours of the race, in addition to winning the race. The # 32 Audi made a memorable comeback from 53rd to the lead, losing the victory with nine minutes to go. Faced with this perspective, the Iron Lynx and Team WRT GT3 drivers have won a well-deserved award in the form of leadership. While the drivers of the Italian structure are the new leaders of the Endurance Cup, two of the three drivers of the Belgian team remain at the top of the combined GTWC Europe classification.
Starting with the Endurance Cup, Côme Ledogar, Nicklas Nielsen and Alessandro Pier Guidi have stormed the lead after achieving the highest possible score with the Ferrari # 51 at Spa. Iron Lynx’s trio of drivers score 71 points, which means dominating the overall with 25 units ahead of Charles Weerts, Dries Vanthoor and Kelvin Van der Linde, drivers of the Audi # 32. Away now, with 36 points, Raffaele Marciello, Dani Juncadella and Jules Gounon are third after retiring at Spa with the Mercedes # 88. Klaus Bachler, Matteo Cairoli and Christian Engelhart appear with 35 units after their good performance in Belgium with the Porsche # 54.
After signing a great comeback with Kelvin Van der Linde in Spa, Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts continue to lead the absolute classification of GTWC Europe, general in which the results of the Endurance Cup and the Sprint Cup are united. The Belgian duo adds 131 points, while Raffaele Marciello is second with 82.5 points. A notable difference, but far from being definitive. For its part, Côme Ledogar, Nicklas Nielsen and Alessandro Pier Guidi occupy third place with 71 units, even if the Iron Lynx trio don’t compete in the Sprint Cup.
With regard to the rest of the categories that are included in the Endurance Cup and GTWC Europe itself, there is a shared leadership. Rolf Ineichen, Ricardo Feller and Alex Fontana lead the category for ‘Silver’ drivers in the Endurance Cup, but because of the car changes that have been carried out in the Sprint Cup only Alex Fontana leads the Silver Cup in the global count of the championship. Finally, the one distributed within the Pro-Am Cup is also distributed and while in the Endurance Cup it is for Chris Froggatt and Edward Cheever, in the absolute classification Alex West is the only leader.
