Twitter does not go through one of its best moments since Elon Musk bought the platform with the apparent sole purpose of blowing up what was one of the most popular social networks on the planet.
The executive has been struggling to keep the business afloat with a permanent vision of squeezing as much profit as possible out of that sinking ship.
Which has led him to implement measures that have limited free users and significantly deteriorated the experience for everyone from advertisers to Twitter fans.
It is in the midst of this complicated panorama that something unexpected has happened: the frank possibility that the days of the blue bird’s social network are numbered.
And it is that the people of Meta would be only a few hours away from launching Threads, the famous app, formerly known as Project 92which could essentially be described as a clone of Twitter.
It has been known for weeks, if not months, that Twitter was working on this platform after seeing the opportunity that Musk was giving them.
Now, the most recent reports indicate that we would be only a few days away from Meta finally starting this new confrontation.
Elon Musk should be worried: Threads the Twitter clone would launch this Thursday, July 6, 2023
A official app list scheduled to be released this week on the Apple App Store has ended by revealing that Threads, the Meta app that imitates Twitter, would be launched in a couple of days, that is, this Thursday, July 6, 2023.
The Threads app will work very similar to Elon Musk’s. This was pointed out by all the previous reports on Project 92 and the screenshots of the Apple store where you can see the interface end up indirectly confirming it:
The platform would be based on the generation of text-based posts that can be liked, commented and shared, in true Twitter style.
The curious and unexpected thing here is that the platform would be directly linked to our Instagram account, so that people can follow the accounts they follow on the photography social network and keep their same username.
This means that virtually anyone with an Instagram account can become a Threads user. Which represents an atomic threat to Elon Musk and the future of Twitter.
