The president of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obradortoincreased his approval rating by five percentage points to 57%according to a survey by the Group of Economists and Associates (GEA) and Applied Social Research (ISA).
The poll, published this Wednesday and entitled “Mexico: Politics, Society and Change”, reflected that the main reason of those surveyed for approving the management of the Mexican president is his “good intentions” (37%), while the majority of those who rejected him did so because they consider him “an authoritarian leader” (42%).
For the second time since 2019, the percentage of those who think that the country is heading in the right direction, at 49%, is higher than that of those who think that it is going in the wrong direction, at 38%.
Along these lines, 48% of those surveyed considered that the Government’s political project should continue.

On the other hand, half of Mexicans considered security as the main problem, since the perception of insecurity has increased compared to six months ago.

For this reason, and after a group of senators from the United States Republican Party proposed using their armed forces to combat the Mexican cartels, six out of 10 Mexicans agreed with the idea, although 75% said that the Government of Mexico should oppose such intervention.
INE reaches maximum approval
The National Electoral Institute (INE) reached its highest approval so far this six-year term: three out of four Mexicans believed that he performs his function adequately and his advisors have 14 points of approval more than the president.

The survey is based on the opinion of 1,070 Mexican citizens registered in the electoral roll interviewed this month, with a confidence percentage of 95% and a margin of error of three points.
