A Korean publication has leaked what appears to be the first image of the modern and technological dashboard of the new IONIQ 6. The future Korean electric sedan will inherit a dash very similar to that of its range brother, the IONIQ 5.
Although we had already been able to peek inside the future electric sedan of Hyundai’s IONIQ label, thanks to a recent series of spy photos of one of the camouflaged development prototypes, until now we had not been able to see the entire dashboard uncovered and in full of the new IONIQ 6.
This first image of the IONIQ 6 dashboard has appeared in the Korean publication Bobaedream and shows us this area of the cabin in full. So it is quite evident that it is a photo taken by someone with access to the vehicle who has been able to lift the black tarps commonly used by these development prototypes.
This photograph shows a dashboard practically traced to the one mounted on the IONIQ 5 already presented. Not only does it have the same shapes and elements, but also the proportions are identical, although if we look closely we can find small differences in the board and big changes in the lower area.
Dashboard
Behind the wheel we continue to find the same light-colored rectangular ceiling that supports the two horizontal screens, one behind the wheel and the other crowning the center console. The latter is very small in size and has very few controls, so its design is very minimalist. Their shapes are practically identical to those we can see in the IONIQ 5, with subtle differences in some controls and finishes. The great novelty is the large central tunnel that mounts the new IONIQ 6 and that is not present in its crossover range brother. This element has the same square shapes as the top console and is the base for some additional controls.
The IONIQ 6 will be a sedan cut model that due to its size is expected to be the future rival of the Korean firm for the Tesla Model 3. At the moment we have not been able to clearly see its exterior features, but after the camouflage, prototypes feature a sedan silhouette with a very discreet third volume.
