We have been hearing rumors of a possible renewal of the iPhone SE with the latest generation components for some time. Judging by these unofficial images, what Apple is preparing is rather a successor to the iPhone 8 with the same thick edges and the same round button that we have been seeing for 12 years.
The images, published by OnLeaks in collaboration with iGeeksBlog, show a 4.7-inch phone with the same design and the same proportions as the iPhone 8 of 2017, but in more refined materials and finishes, inherited from the current Apple flagship, the iPhone 11 Pro.
Instead of a weaker aluminum frame, the terminal has a stainless steel frame. And instead of a shiny cover, like the iPhone 8, it has a matte frosted glass cover, like the one we saw on the iPhone 11 Pro:
It has a fingerprint reader and, according to iGeeksBlog, it is thicker than the iPhone 8 (7.8 vs 7.3 mm), which could mean that it has a larger battery. Other rumors speak of an LCD panel, an Apple A13 processor and at least 3 GB of RAM, in addition to the existence of a larger, 5.5-inch model.
As for the name, it could be called iPhone SE 2, iPhone 9 or something totally new. It would not make sense to be called iPhone 12, not being part of the mainline of iPhones. Nor do we know its price. The iPhone SE was launched in 2016 for $ 400; This model could repeat the strategy.
