Currently, the State of Mexico is the entity with the most overpopulation in prisons.
In Mexico, more than half of young people want to become content creators and/or influencers.
A recent report details that, until June of last year, there were more than 750 YouTube channels with more than 1 million subscribers in Mexico.
Yulay decided, as part of her content, to attend a maximum security prison in the State of Mexico, where she showed what life the inmates lead inside the prison.
Reality dictates that young people today already have in mind dedicating themselves to the creation of digital content, be it for platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat or even Twitch.
Information of comscore reveals that, Until June of last year, there were more than 750 YouTube channels with more than 1 million subscribers in Mexico.; 25 percent more compared to 2020, the year of the pandemic. Likewise, in 2021, more than 6,500 YouTube channels in Mexico had more than 100,000 subscribers, an increase of 30 percent compared to the previous year.
From this perspective, we are talking about the fact that, in Mexico, there is a wide community of content creators and, above all, an important group of young people who want to dedicate themselves to this work.
Data of The Influencer Report point out that more than half of young Mexicans (54 percent) between the ages of 13 and 38 have in mind becoming influencersa profession that, little by little, is also displacing an important series of careers that today are not on the horizon for a large part of the community.
In a context in which digitization continues to gain ground, it is well known that social networks have transformed considerably, especially spaces such as YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, which are home to a large number of creators who, for years , have positioned themselves in the market.
Yulay goes to prison in the State of Mexico and shows the life of prisoners
Undoubtedly, YouTube can be considered as the beginning of content creators and, it can even be said that the term “youtuber” precedes that of “influencer” and, of course, that of “tiktoker”.
Within the wide range of creators, one of the most popular in Mexico is Yulay, who, only on YouTube, has a legion of 3.69 million subscribersspace where he shared his visit to a maximum security prison in the State of Mexico and showing a little of what life is like for the inmates inside the prison.
Cases like Yulay’s, as well as Luisito Comunica’s, Juanpa Zurita’s, among others, show how social networks play an extremely relevant role for the broad community of Internet users, which, according to data from the DataReportal report, it is already counted at almost five billion.
Starting from this premise, we are talking about a moment in which internet personalities surpass traditional television personalities and the so-called traditional media.
And it is that, to tell the truth, the rise or growth of social networks will not stop and, with it, digital marketing seems to present good health for the future, a sufficiently powerful reason for brands to continue drawing their strategies from these platforms in order to reach a much more connected audience.
