1. National Museum of Anthropology
This is the museum that received the most visitors in 2022 and why not? If for more than 50 years this property has housed one of the world’s largest collections of pre-Columbian art, relics and pieces. In addition, it is the largest museum in Latin America.
It has 22 exhibition halls, outdoor spaces, beautiful gardens, and various sculptures, murals, paintings, pieces, and much more.

2. National Museum of History
Within the walls of this imposing building, one of the most diverse and rich collections of the cultural heritage of Mexico is protected. Its construction was ordered by Viceroy Bernardo de Gálvez between 1785 and 1787. Later it was the headquarters of the Military College and Maximiliano and Carlota lived here. Porfirio Díaz also lived in this place. It was not until 1944 that this building became what we know today as the National Museum of History. Here art, historical and archaeological collections that are part of the heritage of Mexico are protected.
3. Templo Mayor Museum
In this incredible place in the Historic Center, the remains of what was the main building of the Great Tenochtitlan are protected. It has an extension of 350 x 350 meters and for the Mexicas this was the center of the universe. The Templo Mayor Museum houses a collection of more than seven thousand objects that narrate our heritage. It is divided into eight rooms dedicated to Huitzilopochtli, the solar and warlike god; to the war and to the objects that the Mexicas obtained during their conquests; Tláloc, god of rain and agriculture and the way in which the Mexicas worked the land. 4. National Museum of Cultures
This emblematic building of the Historic Center houses collections of cultures from all over the world and is a sign of Mexico’s friendship with other nations. Here you will find collections that narrate the civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, America, among others. 5. Regional Museum of Guanajuato Alhóndiga de Granaditas
