One month after taking over at Twitter, Elon Musk, the company’s irreverent CEO, ensures that new user registrations are at an “all-time high”.
On Saturday night, November 26, the billionaire cHe shared several slides detailing the current state of the social network and his vision of the platformaccording to the report published on the website of Engadget.
As of November 16, Twitter added more than 2 million new users per day for the last seven days, according to one of the charts shared by Musk. He added that daily subscriptions increased 66 percent compared to the same seven-day period in 2021.
The also CEO of Tesla and SpaceX said user active minutes were also at an all-time high, with Twitter’s user base averaging nearly 8 billion active minutes per day for the past seven days as of April 15. November, representing an increase of 30 percent over the same period last year.
Musk also showed a graph to claim that hate speech impressions have decreased recently.
Is Elon Musk lying to us?
Whether the data Musk shared is accurate, what it means is highly debatable. For example, the graphic on hate speech presents an incomplete picture of the situation at best.
For one thing, the fine print indicates that the data only covers tweets in English. Second, there is evidence to suggest that Twitter recently stopped enforcing its hateful conduct policy that applies to harassment directed at trans people.
Elon Musk has revoked Twitter’s hateful conduct policy as it applies to targeted harassment of trans people.

Just as important is the data that Musk chose not to share. Not a single graph offers insight into Twitter’s finances. The mogul recently told employees that the company was losing so much money that bankruptcy was “not out of the question.”
