The film is an adaptation of the book. white noiseby the American author Don DeLillo, published in 1985. It is a novel belonging to postmodern literature, written in the first person from the perspective of the protagonist, this being “one of the most ironic, intelligent and darkly funny voices that has commented on life in the United States today,” in the words of The New York Times. The topics addressed in the text, from a satirical tone, include consumerism, academia, marriage and technology.
