The Japanese businessman in 2020 predicted that Huawei could only sell 100 million of smartphones that use wireless networks fifth generation. Yuden made this forecast after one of Huawei’s executives, Guo Ping, urged other companies to cooperate with the Chinese tech giant to develop 5G technology.
“This is a huge market valued in billions of US dollars. The biggest winners will be our partners,” said Guo, quoted by CNBC.
These statements are corroborated by Tosaka’s words. According to the Japanese businessman, the companies Huawei and ZTE, as well as the Chinese operators, have sent the most orders to their company.
“We have received orders for the 5G base stations ( capacitors ) and we should start receiving orders for 5G smartphones early next year,” he said.
5G phones use approximately 1,000 capacitors, which exceeds 30% of the number of capacitors used in 4G mobile devices.
5G technology consumes a huge volume of energy, so the phone that uses it needs a large battery that in turn leaves less space for other parts. This increases the demand for highly technological capacitors capable of storing more energy in a smaller space.
The Chinese company now leads to the development of 5G wireless networks. In May 2019, Washington included Huawei on the blacklist, prohibiting US technology companies from doing business with the Chinese giant.
The US government accuses Huawei of alleged spying on its customers and tries to convince European countries to stop acquiring the equipment of the Chinese company. In turn, Huawei executives have repeatedly rejected these accusations from Washington.
