Between 7 and 9 in the morning of this Monday, October 31, Halloween was brought forward for some social network users, who, without any explanation, found their Instagram accounts suspended, failing that shortly after they had to accept the platform globally.
The company replied that it would investigate the problem in the social network system, assuring that it is an undetermined number of users who found themselves with limited access. It was around 10:00 a.m. (Mexico time) that those affected managed to recover their Instagram accounts and navigate normally.
However, before and after the problem was solved, the Meta company, owned by Mark Zuckerberg, had already generated a wide digital conversation, moving testimonies of the problem it was experiencing to other networks and creating controversy about cybersecurity.
“We are aware that some of you are having trouble accessing your Instagram account. We are looking into it and apologize for the inconvenience. #instagramdown“, the platform tweeted.

Users narrated how when they woke up or on the way to their school and work activities, when trying to enter Instagram in the morning, this platform threw them a suspension message, in which they were given 30 days to express their disagreement and try to recover their digital identity.
According to several testimonials published on Twitter and Facebook, the announcement only told them that the account did not comply with community standards, but that there was no specific or clear reason for such suspension.
“If we cannot confirm your account, it will be permanently disabled”, Instagram warned in a message to those affected.
According to DownDetector, 73 percent of Instagram users reported problems logging into the platform, while 11 percent had problems uploading their data.
