What is the weakling?
Alfeñique is a word of Arabic origin that means “guarapo concentrate”. This name also designates a cooked sugar paste that can be molded.
This confectionery technique, which dates back to colonial times, allows you to make a paste that can be stretched with a rolling pin to leave it as a sheet capable of lining a mould.
With this paste, traditional Mexican sweets are made, such as sugar skulls that are prepared for the Day of the Dead.
What will be at the Alfeñique Fair?
In this celebration you will have the opportunity to see and savor the figures that the master craftsmen make with this sweet. You can find sugar skulls, chocolate skulls, as well as typical sweets of the season.
