Cast Interview
On the occasion of the launch of the series, we spoke with Ricardo Abarca, Valeria Burgos, Dagoberto Gama, Paco Rueda and Coco Máxima. Below, we present some of the most relevant topics that were addressed in the interviews we had with them.
«I feel like Leonel Reina, after spending 15 years outside of Mexico, looking to build a career. the returnee It presents a gigantic range of characters, with which most people will be able to identify. This project makes me very happy and I have a lot of love for it.»
– Ricardo Abarca
One of the most important topics in which he dives the returnee, is the search for one’s own identity, an aspect that, in one way or another, we all experience at some point in our lives. Starting from this premise, the actress Valeria Burgos commented that, from her perspective, thanks to social networks, this is a very latent issue in our current day to day life.
Networks, according to Valeria, only make us compare ourselves with other individuals, awakening in us the desire to belong to certain social circles. the returnee invites the public to reconnect with themselves and their roots, in order to stop pursuing unrealistic goals that only cloud our judgment and deprive us of enjoying a full life.
The series not only seeks to entertain viewers, but also aims to leave them with an important message of self-acceptance, allowing them to rediscover their value as people.
“We are all migrants. The world is made of migrants. Life is a constant journey to find ourselves and have a kind of construction of our own, to have a sense of identity. That’s a very important point that the series makes.”
– Dagobert Gama
Cultural diversity is something that also has a lot of presence in the Show, which occurs in a totally organic way, providing an essence of its own to the project itself. Diversity is, in a way, the backbone of the series (just look at the cast it has). Today, more and more productions are expanding their horizons, in terms of inclusion. What do the cast think about it?
Paco Rueda gave an interesting answer, because, for him, the audiovisual industry is experiencing an adolescent stage. As a result, an exponential growth of content is taking place. Thanks to this development, new windows are opening and space is being given to new forms of freedom of expression, where right now, diversity has a place.
«We must educate our public and our people to have an inclusive and diverse world, which is managed naturally. There is diversity in all aspects and in all cultures, and it is necessary to see it normally.»
– Coco Maxima
