The standard equipment of the CUPRA electric car has been improved. All the versions that make up the CUPRA Born range already have Plu & Charge technology, which greatly facilitates the battery recharging process. A technology backed by companies like IONITY.
CUPRA has introduced an important novelty in the Born range. The first 100% electric car of the popular Spanish brand has seen its offer improved. And it is not about the arrival at dealerships of the long-awaited 77 kWh version that offers up to 549 kilometers of autonomy on a single charge. We are talking about an extension of the standard equipment of all versions.
The CUPRA Born is already equipped with Plug & Charge technology as standard. Regardless of the configured version, the CUPRA electric will incorporate this technology, which is key to making the battery recharging process more comfortable and easier. A technology that has the support of large companies such as IONITY. The brand itself warns that with the Plug & Charge system you can enjoy a simpler and more fluid way to charge the car battery.
The advantages of the Plug & Charge technology of the CUPRA Born
With the Plug&Charge system The Born identifies itself with the charging station through an encrypted standard and then automatically begins the charging process. Therefore, it is no longer necessary for the user to use a mobile phone or an RFID card to perform the operation. «plug and charge», this is the main premise. Logically, the collection of the load is also automated.
It should also be noted that Plug & Charge technology is not compatible with all charging points already available. The stations must be adapted to this system. The Volkswagen Group, the automobile conglomerate to which the CUPRA brand belongs, continues to work on expanding its European charging network. The company warns that Born drivers can already use more than 300,000 charging points (6,300 in Spain) throughout Europe.

All these charging points include 10,000 fast chargers with a power greater than 100 kW. They are spread over more than 3,000 stations. Recharging at these points has been simplified thanks to a single contract to choose from, which allows access and billing at all of them.
