The last few days have been really crazy for everyone in the industry because after a long time of rumors, the expected one was finally confirmed nintendo direct, an event in which the company told us about its short-term plans. Of course, some things were already anticipated, but that did not prevent us from having some serious surprises, causing us to jump with excitement over the announcements that were taking place on more than one occasion. In case you have missed said event or just want to relive it, we have prepared a list of those that are for us, the five most important news that were released. We wait for you to tell us which of all of them is your favorite.
Fire Emblem Engage Reveal
After many rumors and even a leak, it has finally been revealed what will be the next step in the main line of this beloved franchise. Nintendo knew that its Direct had to open strong and therefore decided that Fire Emblem Engage was its best bet. Although many are not so happy with the name of the game, the simple fact that the tactical JRPG made by Intelligent Systems is back, was enough. In the first material shown we see that we will have completely new characters and concepts, but with the use of certain mechanics, we can summon old acquaintances to help us in battle. Its premiere has been agreed for next January 20, 2023, this together with a beautiful special edition.
Octopath Traveler II reveal
Without a doubt, one of the great surprises of the Nintendo Direct, one of those announcements that we basically knew nothing about and therefore were very amazed to see. Yes, Square Enix has announced Octopath Traveler II, a sequel to that wonderful RPG that caught everyone’s attention a few years ago mainly because of its very particular visual style. Needless to say, this new one will follow very closely in the footsteps of its predecessor, only with characters and a completely new story that we simply can’t wait to play. It is important to mention that the title will be released on February 24, 2023, only this time, in addition to coming to the Nintendo Switch, it will also do so on PS4, PS5 and PC.
Pikmin 4 is a reality
A real joy to have seen that Shigeru Miyamoto suddenly appeared in the Nintendo Direct. After giving some updates on the Mario theme parks, we were just waiting for him to say something about the movie, however, in a rather strange way, the legendary creative began to talk about Pikmin Bloom, leaving everyone confused, this to close with a news that we had been waiting for a long time. Yes, Pikmin 4 is a reality and despite the fact that we were given few details such as the fact that there will be a new camera, the truth is that we have been extremely excited. For now, the game does not have an exact release date, but it was promised that next year we will be able to enjoy it.
Kirby’s Return to Dreamland comes to Switch with a new version
Wow, now is a great time to be a Kirby fan. Nintendo and HAL are at it with the famous pink ball and in the past Nintendo Direct, they weren’t going to leave it out. Almost as the event was winding down, it was announced that Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe would be coming to the Nintendo Switch on February 26, 2023. In case you didn’t know, we’re looking at a remastered version of the title originally released on the Wii. It ended up becoming one of the most popular and successful of the entire series. The truth is that it will be a great time to revisit or why not, play this super fun title for the first time.
Breath of the Wild sequel gets name and date
When we all thought that the Nintendo Direct would go away without the presence of Zelda and that all social networks would burn in fire, it was decided to close the event with what we had been eagerly awaiting: official name and new release date for the so-called sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Yes, we can already let him tell Breath of the Wild 2, because we finally know that Link’s next great adventure is called The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which will be arriving on May 12 of next year. Despite these two important data, it should be mentioned that the material shown in the trailer felt quite small and, of course, left us with more questions than answers.
