The event THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2022 featured more than a dozen upcoming games. Upcoming releases were incredibly diverse, but notable among the unique offerings was the announcement of wreckreation.
Developed by Three Fields Entertainment, wreckreation is an open world sandbox driving game. Although Wreckreation does not yet have a release date, THQ Nordic has confirmed that it is planned for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as for PC.
Wreckreation is, at heart, a racing game. However, it is not just a racing game. the basis of wreckreation it’s a 400 square kilometer open world map called MixWorld. Each player will have their own MixWorld, within which they can “create, shape… and destroy”.
This sandbox will allow players to drive and race as they please, creating races, stunts and whatever else they want. Jumps, loops, half pipes and even moving obstacles can be placed all over the world and even high in the sky.
It would be very lonely to create a map of wreckreation full of intense racing experiences and then not being able to share it with friends. That’s why Three Fields Entertainment has brought multiplayer to Wreckreation in multiple ways.
Players will be able to compete with each other, visit the worlds of their friends and other creators, share designs, and much more. There is even a ranking system for several different racing game modes, such as Drift, Air, Near-Miss, Stunt, Crash, and Time modes.
Wreckreation does not currently have an announced release window. Those interested in knowing more can follow THQ Nordic on social media or on Steam. Expect more news in the coming months, but you may have to wait until 2023 to find out more about Wreckreation.
