One of the definitions of the concept “time”: the measure of movement or change. How much do we change in a specific period?
In this sense, if we change little, does time pass slowly? This Aristotelian description of what “time” means for him places us between two walls at the moment of self-criticism or the evaluation of our results around one or several processes within the organization.
“Time is running, and I don’t know if I’m moving forward.” In one of the talks within one of my chats: how are we measuring ourselves? Are they perhaps the achievements or the route, jumping from the origin to the destination implies in all cases traveling a path, and in the ideal of these, the shortest distance is the straight line, and we say ideal because that is how it appears in most schemes in presentations.

Choosing one of the two options when particular objectives are set within a purpose depends on the personalities, but above all on the facts of each case; the task of identifying them within a process is a task for optimists and pessimists.
There are few pages in the “Good Book” that are dedicated to a protagonist like Noah, in the text it is said that he lived nine hundred and fifty years, yes, more than nine centuries, something like 12 times the current average life time in our country. Imagine having periods of reflection and rethinking for tens or scores of years! It could be said that an obstacle in the execution of projects is time.
How to measure what we do? One recommendation: “stop measuring what we don’t do”. In the case of those who choose the professional academy, they must invest at least 17 years on average in obtaining a university degree and at least 20 if they decide to improve through a postgraduate degree; which leaves us with only half a century to meet or try to meet some of the professional and personal goals that we are considering. Far less time than the builder of the gigantic boat that saved our species had.
The idea of creating within an organization seems just the idea of building ourselves through another. In the end, it could only be about being us within something that represents us even a little. Draw ourselves as a container that we are feeding with qualities over time in similarity to processes, processes from which a result is expected, it could be the mirror of what is “not achieved”. Having centuries to correct and reconstruct ourselves, today is not an opportunity that we have in sight, and in no way does this mean that we should run instead of jogging slowly every process that is undertaken.
