The World of Warcraft player community is always looking to get the most out of the video game, and that is because the title has one of the longest delays of any video game in history. The nearly 20-year-old MMO has had eight expansions, all of which have added massive amounts of content to the ever-evolving game, with a ninth in Dragonflight soon on the way.
Something that we find quite remarkable is that, with so much content to leak, a player suggested bringing back the old zones so that they can be relevant in future expansions. User munk2 posted a detailed idea for using Chromie for post-game content on the WoW subreddit. Reddit users were asked:
“What do you think about this idea? Leveling + Seasons for endgame world content.” In the post is a graphic they created showing their idea of integrating old zones into post-game relevance. Munk2 wants to introduce old zones through Seasons, like Northrend for example , at the end of the game where players can collect higher level equipment.

Included would be, “Challenging world content for individual and group players. Each season consists of the zones and story missions from a single expansion, scaled to end-game difficulty. Its final feature included: “Hard enough to guarantee team rewards relevant to the current endgame content.”
One player loved the idea, saying, “As a non-raider, I love this idea. A good way to revisit old expansions (if you didn’t do them while leveling up), it allows new players to see old content and it will be entire zones, not just sitting there doing nothing.”
Despite the accolades, some World of Warcraft loyalists aren’t sold on the idea. One fan said, “Sorry, are you suggesting that I do quests at max level so I can go to an expanded version of something I did over 10 years ago so I can do more quests? They also added:
“I understand that there are people who love quests and stuff, but I’m not sure there’s enough of a player base to warrant something like this.” Despite the desire to return to the old zones of the past, incorporating older but beloved areas into the final game content could prove difficult. However, if Blizzard could pull it off, it could satisfy a large number of gamers.
