The leak revealed that this collaboration between Call of Duty: Warzone and The Umbrella Academy will be ready before September 30.
With a long list of collaborations between franchises, this practice is quite common within the industry. A clear example of this is Fortnite, which has made great collaborations with Marvel, DC Comics, NFL, NBA, among others, so its popularity has skyrocketed on multiple occasions. And, although he could be the greatest exponent in this regard, he does not mean that more franchises have not resorted to the same resource as the previous game.
Of course, Activision has not been left behind with some events that involved the arrival of other settings and characters in its universe. Like its quintessential title: Call of Duty: Warzone. And this is not surprising given that Warzone has been constantly updated to improve your overall experience. From game modes, maps, items, playable operators, and even the number of crossovers in recent seasons, this Activision shooter -released in March 2020- has really brought many positive elements to its extensive player base. And with Call of Duty: Warzone 2 almost at the door, the spirits of its fans have been rising.
Activision has collaborated with other franchises in the past
Getting back on topic, the franchise has wasted no time when it comes to collaborating with a variety of businesses. The arrival of IPs to the shooter, whose number amounts to 32 studies, among which we find Beenox, Blizzard Entertainment, King, High Moon, Infinity Ward, Toys for Bob, Treyarch, Raven Software, and Sledgehammer Gamesamong many others that come from Activision itself, such as Guitar Hero, Hearthstone, Overwatch, Candy Crush, Gun and several more, has been an important record for Blizzard.
With the appearance of Operators like Die Hard’s John MacClane, Rambo, and Snoop Dogg, last season the Mosterverse came to Warzone in a brand new in-game event where King Kong relentlessly destroyed the Pacific map while Godzilla simultaneously cast strong attacks on the coast. And, as if that were not enough, during the event players could collect the skins of the aforementioned monsters, as well as one for Mechagodzilla.
The Umbrella Academy will appear in the world of Warzone
It seems that these strategies have worked quite well for Activision, since they are now planning their next big event and, as we know, the franchise has partnered with Netflix to carry it out.
Proof of the above is that in some Call of Duty: Warzone dataminers such as reality, new packages have been found buried in the archives of the shooter. The description shows that these packs contain trackers and blueprints that will soon be available in the in-game store. And, as icing on the cake, it tells us that the Tracer Pack: Umbrella Academy Cha Cha Bundle will include blueprints with pink and blue tracers, a unique Vanguard mystery item, and, of course, random dismemberments—which, to be honest, they are one of the main attractions thanks to their gender.
as you can read, before September 30 this promotion will be available for Call of Duty, which has excited fans of both franchises. In the same thread, reality mentions that Warzone players will be able to unlock a legendary KG M40 assault rifle blueprint, a charm, and lastly, a legendary calling card.
This package, as they let us know, can be obtained by purchasing two specific packages of the Umbrella Academy. And while the rewards won’t be immediate, they will be granted sometime in Season 5.
The leak revealed a lot of interesting details about the collaboration, however, it hasn’t stopped surprising Warzone fans. Although it is not the first time that Warzone sees other characters on its stages -as in the past there were some Shingeki no Kyojin operator skins, but they did not have the impact that the company planned-, fans would never have expected Now it was Umbrella Academy’s turn. Perhaps with the popularity of the Netflix series and the premiere of its third season last month, Warzone decided to take advantage of the moment to present this curious crossover.
The story of the series focuses on a collection of subjects who were adopted by a billionaire due to being born with certain abilities, however, it is not yet known if the plot of the Umbrella Academy will be involved in Warzone. There is even speculation that there could be more surprises in store for fans of both franchises.
