The Ministry of Public Administration (SFP), through the Internal Control Body, gave an award to the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS). The reason was because 100 percent of its workers, that is, 475 thousand 495, presented their Patrimonial Declaration and of Interests 2022.
An example for other institutions
This action becomes relevant because the IMSS is the institution with the largest staff in the entire Federal Government. In fact, it represents about 30 percent of the total list of forced, made up of around one million 500 thousand workers.
During the ceremony held at the headquarters of the National Union of Social Security Workers (SNTSS), the general director of the IMSS, Zoé Robledo, stressed that the exercise of transparency is already rooted in the working class, in officials and public servants.
He stressed that having fully achieved this responsibility “is a feat” because the Institute has the largest number of public servants in the federal government in percentage terms.
He also pointed out that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the operational diversity of the workers, the territorial dispersion of the units, the IMSS complied in a timely manner with the delivery of this administrative obligation.
The general director of the IMSS affirmed that the Union carried out an efficient job so that the workers had the necessary advice regarding the Patrimonial declarationall this “as part of a strategy that led to an extraordinary result”.
In addition, he recognized the Public Function Secretary (SFP) that had a proactive participation and joint work so that the declarations were delivered in a timely manner, in order to avoid sanctions to the public servants of the IMSS.
In his speech, the secretary general of the National Union of Social Security Workers (SNTSS), Dr. Arturo Olivares Cerda, mentioned that this trade organization promotes compliance with the rules and laws that govern labor relations with the IMSS, as well as fiscal obligations.
He stressed that accountability leads to the construction of an environment of transparency and honesty that provides elements to request constant improvements in working conditions.
For his part, Jorge Pedro Castolo Domínguez, head of the Internal Control Body (OIC) of the SFP, on behalf of the Secretary of Public Function, Roberto Salcedo Aquino, said that it is important to highlight this achievement in its fair dimension, due to the complexity which represents having reached the established goal and that this shows the commitment of the IMSS with transparency and respect for the obligations of public service, for which he invited to “continue with these efforts that will allow us to consolidate a government that functions with probity and efficacy”.
