Boruto has often been criticized as a complainer, a character who is only there to be hated, but an act of Naruto may be the justification for the Hokage’s son’s way of being. It is worth mentioning that this article will contain spoilers.but they will serve to better understand Boruto as a character in relation to Naruto
When Boruto first debuted in the last chapter of Naruto and would later become a leading character in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, no one could have predicted that he would become the new main character of the saga. This created a bit of a conflict, implying at the time that Boruto would just be a copy of the already known formula, however the problem is that this would leave any potential storyline focusing on him as a repeat of what happened in Naruto. To resolve this, series creator Masashi Kishimoto staged a scene that gives Boruto reason to distance himself. of his father figure and, to his father, he exemplifies his problems as hokage:
this worse then anything goku did for niggas to call him a bad father pic.twitter.com/3pWKFVZ0Yp

As we well know, this scene includes a couple of years after the end of the great ninja war, Naruto married Hinata, had two children, Boruto and his younger sister Himawari, and became the Seventh Hokage, achieving his much heralded sleep. Although Boruto is a ninja like his parents before him, bristles at any mention that he might succeed Naruto as Hokage. It is not an idea that pleases him, but why?
Tension rises when Boruto and his squad meet up with Naruto, where the young ninja acts cold towards his father and insists that the Seventh Hokage cannot miss Himawari’s birthday. Later, readers see why Boruto has such a grudge. When Naruto brings a birthday cake for his daughter, he suddenly disappears and the cake falls to the ground.. The Naruto that was with his family had been a shadow clone all along. To make matters worse, there is a strong implication that Naruto has missed most of Himawari’s birthdays.
Is Naruto a bad father?
This little scene has been key for a part of the fandom is raised whether or not he is a good father as has happened with Goku from Dragon Ball Z. Even more so, taking into account that Naruto is an orphan son and always longed to have a familyso seeing him act that way breaks with that image he had created.
While it is undeniable that Boruto is a complainer, it is difficult to blame him after his father does not give the least bit of attention to his family. It really is that? Shikamaru even clarifies that he can actually handle most of Naruto’s remaining work, which is why he is hard to imagine that the Seventh Hokage had something so urgent as to excuse himself from missing Himawari’s birthday, his youngest daughter. Although the situation is bad no matter what, what makes it worse is that he sent the shadow clone to spend time with his family instead of the shadow clone staying and doing his paperwork for him.
Few characters have divided readers more than Naruto’s son, Boruto. Much of this is because many fans of the original series often find the character too whiny. However, can we really blame him? Even, its biggest mistake may be that it has to be inexorably tied to the main franchise. But, this may also be because his fans would not have accepted a “spiritual continuation” without the ninjas they had already known for so many years.
However, this detail will not diminish the repudiation that the fandom has for this character. Boruto will continue to live in Naruto’s shadow, regardless of Kishimoto’s attempts to justify his character and his estrangement from his father. The “next generations” may never be able to be separated from “the original generations of Naruto”.
