For example, we might mention that Oda originally had a very different version of Nine Red Scabbards for Wano Arc, as the Vassals of Oden were a tragic group of warriors, unable to save their master from being killed by the Beasts Pirates while being burned alive inside a boiling cauldron, so they vowed to spend the rest of their lives avenging their late leader as they worked to open the borders of Wano Country to the world at large.
So the Scabbards would eventually meet Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates, helping them form a band of resistance fighters seeking to overthrow the petty shogun known as Orochi, so the Vassals were no match for their late master in strength, but still they proved to be valuable allies to those seeking freedom within Wano.
