Milan Furniture Week is an essential event for designers and creatives related to design. At this annual event, which after confinement has resumed its normality this 2022, the MADE design team has not missed. As its design director explains to us, Adam Daghorn, this visit serves “Huge influence on the entire MADE design team and gives me and the team a lot of ideas when designing and creating our products“. Adam also highlights the role of Italy and its influence in the world of design “Italy and Italian design have always offered us a wealth of examples of luxury and quality design”.
During his tour of the Milan week, Adam and his team highlight the following trends that will influence the design of products and therefore, how we will dress the houses in the coming years.
color trends
More than a specific color Adam Daghorn, emphasizes “how and when to use color to accentuate details”. In this edition, color has played a fundamental role, possibly more than ever, since there has been a distinct absence of prints or patterns on the fabrics.
The color palettes that were seen at the Salone were tonal and sophisticated, making a heavy emphasis on stronger, bolder colors.
At MADE they have realized this year that green has been one of the most sought-after colors, perhaps because of its naturalness. But it seems that after two rather turbulent years, customers are looking to fill their homes with colors that have a restorative and inspiring effect, and the Salone has perfectly portrayed the quest for a brighter, bolder, braver and more colorful future.
The earthy orangesthe warm browns and ochres They have reigned this year. Secondly, the bright blues, the intense reds and paprika colors dominated the exhibits, the walls, and the furniture. And the lilacs, the purplesdeep greens and avocado tones too They arrive stomping for the next few months.
The advantage of this trend is that applying color to a large piece is the easiest way to renovate, refresh or completely transform a room.

Trends in Shapes and Materials
In terms of forms and materials, this year there was no lack of exaggerated and oversized shapesagain reflecting the tendency to add an element of fun and play in the home.
It has also been noted the influence of the style of the 80s and 90s that has been quietly spreading and this has been reflected andn geometric shapes, such as hexagons and angular sculptures, that were seen everywhere in the Salone. Colored wood stains, chrome and leather wrapped details have also reflected this trend.
The trend of the shiny furniture it has been resurfacing little by little in Milan and is now very fashionable.
Without having to resort to well-known Italian pieces, MADE already includes furniture in resounding, round and large shapes. And they also point to brightness in an accessible way, to make it easier to join this trend.
