Key facts:
Salinas Pliego defines inflation as a tax that harms the most needy.
Excessive regulation kills innovation, says bitcoiner.
The Mexican businessman, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, lashes out at the central banks and their directors: «Christine Lagarde, from the European Central Bank, is a fraudster, she is a thief and it must be said, because under her management the purchasing power of all is being expropriated the Europeans”.
The same thinks of Jerome Powell, president of the Federal Reserve of the United States. He calls him a “fraudster” because “in the last two years he has created twice as much money as was in circulation.” The businessman adds that the US official “is stealing their money from the gringos.”
The words of the founder of the business conglomerate, Grupo Salinas, were spoken in an interview he had days ago with the content creator Roberto Martínez Osuna. The conversation is posted on the YouTube channel, “Roberto MTZ”.
The criticisms of the central bankers were issued by Salinas Pliego after referring to inflation and its consequences. Like other connoisseurs of the matter, he refers to inflation as a disguised tax and explains:
“The inflation tax is a super perverse tax. It is very difficult to realize, you need someone to tell you. In addition, it harms those most in need. Those who are most ruined by the inflationary tax are pensioners.

Also, who is one of the three richest men in Mexico, explains that inflation benefits those who owe money, since the debt becomes less and less. “Who are the ones that owe the most money in the world?” asks Salinas Pliego, to answer himself: “the government.” For all that, the current financial system, he considers “a perfect fraud”.
“They see your asshole face!” Says this 66-year-old accountant. He adds: “those who manufacture fake money are the government people. Those of the Bank of Mexico, the Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank, the Bank of Japan, the Bank of the United Kingdom…».
«The ‘crypto’ are worth for mother, the only thing that works is bitcoin»
It is not the first time that Salinas Pliego refers to “gobiernícolas”. In July of last year, as CriptoNoticias reported, he had said that “government people don’t like bitcoin” because “it burns them that people can get out of their fiat trap, because that’s what fiat money is. : a fraud”.
Apparently, almost a year later, he still thinks the same. In the recent interview with Martínez Osuna, the businessman called bitcoin “the new digital gold.” Not only that, but it also showed that it is incomparable with other cryptocurrencies that it calls “garbage”: “The ‘crypto’ are good for mother, they serve for pure shit, the only thing that works is bitcoin”.
“Bitcoin is what I consider to be the new digital gold. It’s gold for the modern Internet age. It has value anywhere in the world. (…) You can sell it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in any country in the world. It has value and has incredible properties such as its immediate transport from one place to another. (…) It has another thing: it is outside the financial system and that is very important, because the financial system depends 100% on the government officials».
Ricardo Salinas Pliego, Mexican businessman.
Unlike bitcoin (BTC), the money issued and imposed by the States (or fiat money), if it is in the financial system, “it is not yours,” explains the interviewee. «It is yours only if the government allows it. In addition, it can be frozen and expropriated at any second, on the other hand, bitcoin does not », he adds.
It is worth clarifying that with bitcoin this is true only if the private keys are stored in a self-custody wallet. On the other hand, if bitcoins are held in an exchange, broker or any type of platform that does not grant the user the possession of their private keys, then they are also at the mercy of possible expropriations, hacks, confiscations, etc.
“Central bank digital currencies are the worst idea”
After expressing himself about bitcoin, Salinas Pliego changed the course of the talk towards central bank digital currencies (or CBDC, for its acronym in English).
These are, as CriptoNoticias has detailed on numerous occasions, digital representations of existing fiat money. Already developed CBDCs (China and the Bahamas, for example) work through centralized databases held by the State and that do not allow privacy in transactions.
“It’s the worst idea,” says the Mexican and adds: “I hope no one accepts them under any circumstances, because with that, the government has the ability to know how much each person has in their wallet and what they spend the money on.”
“Take care of your freedom”
As advice to listeners, Salinas Pliego tells them that “Take care of your freedom”, because “it is very easy to lose it”.
“All over the world we are under siege from the government. They love to tell you what you can do and what you can’t do. And that is the number one killer of creativity and innovation. They are going to take us back to the middle ages if they are successful », he warns.
Grupo Salinas, owner of Banco Azteca, suffered first hand from regulators who, last year, put a stop to their plans to sell bitcoin.
On the contrary, When the market is allowed to develop freely, the entrepreneur is convinced that a virtuous circle is formed: “because you are free, you can innovate, you can invent new things and new ways of doing things. That makes others copy you and then you must do better. It is a virtuous circle that generates prosperity.”
