The survey highlights the “high percentage” of infected workers
The study, carried out by CSIF between November 2021 and April 2022 and presented this Monday. It revealed that 46.2 percent had some type of relapse after their incorporation. Nursing, with 22.6 percent; guards (10.8 percent) and doctors (9.3 percent).
Hospital areas with MOST COVID infections among their health personnel
The units with the most infections among their staff are those of hospitalization (37 percent of cases). Special units (Emergencies, ICU, operating rooms, etc.), with 20.7 percent; and Primary Care, with a 14.7 percent incidence, as detailed by the president of the health sector CSIF healthcareFernando Hontangas.
The figures show the persistence of Covid-19 among these professionals and the effects of relapses. Systemic symptoms stand out (weakness, sweating, low-grade fever…). Neurological (headache, confusion, sleep disorder, language disorders…), musculoskeletal (joint pain, chest pressure…) other otolaryngological or ophthalmological types (dry eyes, blurred vision, sore throat, etc.).
Another fact that worries CSIF is that almost 40 percent of cases with Covid-19 are over 50 years old.
“This data is related to the aging of the workforce”, explained the union’s national secretary for Prevention, Encarna Abascal.
Lastly, only 32.95 percent of those affected receive any follow-up from the departments of Prevention and Occupational Health of health centers, having to go to private assistance 11.24 percent, according to those surveyed.
