Three-part video in which co-director Byron Howard explains the role of each member of the family, to which co-director and co-writer Jared Bush adds that families are wonderful but also complicated, so it’s important to be honest with your family . Additionally, song writer Lin-Manuel Miranda wanted to delve into the complexity of a large Latino family. In this way, the voice cast speaks to the values of the film and the complexity of the royal families and how they wanted to reflect it on the screen.
The Familia group was created about three years before the film was released, a group of Disney workers of Latino origin who served as cultural support to respect the traditions and legacy of Latino families in the film. Thus, the advisors of this group called Family share their real experiences with the directors of the film, with the aim of providing depth, realism and many feelings to the Madrigal family. Therefore, they show us what inspired each character and how the artists’ designs managed to lend credibility to their personalities.

Video divided into two parts in which the filmmaking team talks about how they tried to capture the multiple cultures, biodiversity and vibrant colors of Colombia in the film, considering this South American country as the perfect place for Encanto.
They describe how satisfying it was to honor this beautiful country and support the theme of magical realism, representing Colombian culture as an essential part of the writing process. Thus, the directors and a part of the creative team traveled to Colombia to collect as much information as possible to impregnate it in the film, seeing images of that trip and they tell us all the experiences and knowledge they obtained, staying in typical towns like Barichara, where they achieved a real experience of how to live in Colombia.

Video divided into three parts in which those responsible for the film show us the process of creating each character and what defines and individualizes them musically speaking. In this way, they teach us the development of the Colombian-inspired music of Encanto, through the songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and under the colorful score of Germaine Franco; covering the entire creative process, from the initial concept to the final recording.
Let’s talk about Bruno (00:24:07) (Audio: English) (Subtitles: Spanish, German, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish and English coded for the deaf):
Co-director and co-writer Jared Bush notes that the music in the film is intentionally always present, where they wanted to have many different musical styles and Lin-Manuel Miranda immersed himself in the past and present of Latin music. Therefore, they explain to us the lyricist’s way of working.
And what better way to explain his work than to talk about the creation of the song “No Se Habla de Bruno”, with its intriguing background and synonymous with gossip and family secrets, where each family member has their moment of prominence. Thus, we discover the close collaboration between Lin-Manuel Miranda, the choreographer Jamal Sims, the voice cast and the animators to bring it to the screen and that it will end up being so catchy.

Inside the house, each character has a magical room related to his power, describing each of them. But also the very personality of the house, having life, intelligence and feelings.
