It is one of the most exclusive creations ever created by Lexus. The Japanese brand has presented in Cologne, Germany, the first unit dressed in the blue color of the special edition of the Lexus LC 500 Cabriolet “Limited Edition Regatta” that has been manufactured for Europe. A convertible of true luxury with exterior and interior aesthetics out of the ordinary.
Lexus does not stop launching special and limited editions of its models. If a few weeks ago it presented the exclusive “Hokkaido Edition” in society in the LC Cabrio, now it is the turn to present in Europe the first unit of the LC 500 Cabriolet “Limited Edition Regatta”. Only 20 units have been conceived for the whole world, and the first made for Europe is on display at the Toyota Collection show in Cologne, Germany.
Just take a look to see that it is not just any LC Cabriolet. Its exterior paint that surrounds the entire bodywork makes it clear that it is not, since it is a unique shade of blue in the world -called «Stratus Blue»- and inspired by the world of navigation and a very specific species of butterfly, the blue morpho. The paint contains special microparticles that produce a very powerful saturation, and at the same time it is able to change color according to the incidence of the sun’s rays. It even generates a series of shadows which are generated with a special application of several layers of paint.

In addition, it contrasts with the navy blue color of the canvas of the hood. Attention to detail is a regular Lexus never neglects, and in this special edition even less so. Therefore, the interior is completely lined with white semi-aniline leather, the best color to contrast with the exterior. In addition, the door sills feature double exposed carbon fiber slatsthe innermost ones that prevent small objects from falling between the lower frames of the doors and the seats.
These present the signature of two qualified responsible, Chief Engineer Yasushi Muto, and Chief Designer Tadao Mori. A couple of details that reinforce the exclusivity of the limited edition throughout the world. The same material has also been used for lining the steering wheel rim, just as the dashboard has decorative details in the same blue as the exterior, for example the front and rear seat belts and the sides of the front head restraints.
The Lexus LC 500 Cabriolet “Limited Edition Regatta” has the powerful gasoline engine 5.0-liter V8 with a maximum power of 477 hpalong with a maximum torque of 540 Nm, bringing the power to the ground through a ten-speed automatic transmission. For now, it is absolutely unknown if this unit will be put up for sale or if it has an owner, since those responsible for the Toyota Collection exhibition have publicly thanked Lexus, and Lexus Europe, for the transfer of this unit for the exhibition.
