Google works on modifying Stadia. Their cloud store now won’t require you to sign up for them to view their catalog of free games.
The development of Stadia since its creation has not completely satisfied Google. For this reason, the company will make it much easier to access the store, giving players and developers great freedom.
In the coming weeks (it is not yet known when), Stadia will take a complete turn that will transform it into a kind of “test service”. We say this because as of this change, the store will allow us to browse the available games without the need to register with Google or in the same Stadia.
This means that both developers and players know what the gaming experience is like. Stadia will be free. For developers, Google It allows them to offer an early access test only by reproducing clicks, be it in ads, social networks, etc. On the other hand, it helps that they can transfer the games from Unreal Engine and Unity to Stadia more easily using tools like DXVK.
In one of the many events of the Google Developers Summit, we dropped an illusion that we had about the future of an emulator in Stadia. A few days ago there were rumors that Google would incorporate a Windows game emulator, although everything seems to indicate that this will not be the case.
Some games are already available for you to play for free on Stadia. They are: Crayta, Destiny 2, Hitman, PUBG, Super Bomberman R Online and some demos like Rainbow Six: Extraction and Resident Evil Village.
Maybe this change to free and without the need for registration is what Google need to float Stadia. In any case, the users of the service have a great advantage that, regardless of the result, we will be able to take advantage of.
