Accustomed to the preparations of MANHART Performance, the German specialist has left the canon for once, betting on diesel. The new Manhart MH7 400D is the most brutal 7 Series you can find on the road.
Electrification has opened the doors to a more sustainable level of sportiness, a preserve that until now was typical of gasoline. Few trainers have dared with the mechanics diesel, more complicated to modify given its greater technological load. But those of MANHART Performance They have shown that models with this fuel can also be transformed into brutal sports cars.
Of course, the aesthetics are those of the tuning specialist. The body of the Bavarian luxury saloon has been painted in high-gloss black and the distinctive gold stripe extends from the hood to the trunk, across the roof and along the sides, with the stamp of the model on the front wings and the back. The same color that, as always, highlights the rim of the 22-inch Venturi alloy wheelsthe bumper air intakes or the rear bumper insert.

But this more special Series 7 also has elements made in carbon fiberLike the spoiler on the lower edge of the front bumper or the thinner one on the edge of the boot lid. What’s more, the height of the air suspension has been lowered by 30 millimeters, which offers a much more aggressive posture. As well as the high-performance tires fitted, measuring 265/30R22 at the front and 295/25R22 at the rear, more outside thanks to some spacers on the axles that have increased the width by 15 millimeters.
Although the interior maintains its luxurious atmosphere, those of Manhart have left a special stamp by replacing the standard digital instrument panel for which Alpina rides, with an electro-illumination in blue. Seats and steering wheel have been upholstered with a new leather covering that offers a clean look.
The Manhart MH7 400D is the toughest 7 Series diesel ever. The preparation has started from the base of the version 740d xDrive of the BMW flagship, equipped with the six-cylinder in-line 3.0-liter biturbo diesel engine that produces a maximum power of 340 hp. The same block that is fitted to the M Performance ‘M40d’ versions on other models in the range. Thanks to a new turbocharger and an updated control unit, it has been possible to reach a new level of performance for the most powerful diesel block in the BMW range today: 405 hp and 790 Nm conserving, although with improvements, the eight-speed automatic transmission and of course xDrive all-wheel drive.
