The Tesla Model 3 could be declined in a new version equipped with a battery of 100 kWh, against 75 kWh currently. This could increase its range to 650 kilometers. It is a leak that suggests the release of such a model.
Could the Tesla Model 3 have the right to an improved model? This is in any case what the internet user Zeus M3 induces, who had access to a Tesla computer set in factory mode. In its screenshot, the Model 3 is equipped with a 100 kWh battery, against 75 usually.
Zeus M3 is not the first to suggest such an improvement for the Model 3, since the leaker Green, very active with regard to the brand’s electric cars, had also suggested the arrival of a 100 kWh battery. He had found mention of such a version by rummaging through the on-board computer of his Model 3.
A significant gain
If Tesla decides to include a 100 kWh battery in its next Model 3, this would allow a significant gain in autonomy. The current version is equipped with a 75 kWh battery, which allows it to have a range of just over 530 kilometers, which is already very good.
This new battery could allow Tesla to offer 650 kilometers of autonomy, even more than the Model S with the same battery. A strong argument when many manufacturers are launching luxury cars 100% electric. We can for example mention Mercedes and its EQS, a sports car also equipped with a 100 kWh battery and almost official. On the French side, Peugeot is soon to offer its 3008 in a 100% electric version.
Tesla, therefore, does everything to improve the range and life of the batteries in its vehicles. More than that, engineers from the brand would have found a way to make the batteries even more durable in the long run.
