Netflix has released the The Cuphead Show first trailer, animated series based on the beloved platform game with a retro animation style. Upon arrival on the streaming platform, Cuphead will be presented as a comedy with the well-known characters of the game: the lovable and impulsive rogue Cuphead and his cautious but easily influenced brother Mugman. As the two roam their surreal homeworld (the Inkwell Islands) in search of fun and adventure, they always have each other’s backs.
The Cuphead Show”combines nostalgic delights, hilarious banter, and a healthy dose of edginess, especially when a ridiculously weird nemesis, himself Devil, arrive on the scene to play with our heroes“, reads the synopsis of the series presented along with this trailer:
CJ Kettler is executive producing the series alongside Cuphead creators Chad and Jared Moldenhauer of Studio MDHR. The Netflix Animation-produced series is also executive produced by Emmy and Annie Award winner Dave Wasson (Mickey Mouse Shorts) and co-executive produced by Cosmo Segurson (Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling). The series will premiere next 18th of February.
Luckily, this year will be a delight for Cuphead, as the game will also receive The Delicious Last Course, its more than anticipated expansion dated for June 30. Players will head to “DLC Island”, a wild and unknown island off the coast of the Inkwell Islands. There, more levels full of platforms and the challenge of defeating new final bosses await them. However, new skills can also be unlocked and the long wait for the expansion is rewarded with additional content that can practically be considered a new game.
