Elon Musk is undoubtedly a visionary in many things and his introduction to the automotive industry has generated momentum that is likely to be worth studying in a few years. But this is accompanied by not a few extravagances.
Tesla It has become the world’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer and even leads sales figures in some countries. This is because their creations ooze innovation and performance on all four sides. Attributes that, together with an exceptional marketing campaign, have managed to place the brand in the minds of every user when it comes to this type of car.
But all the good things about the Tesla sometimes turn into nonsense as a result of the obsession of Elon musk for innovating and becoming a trend. The interior design of its vehicles is a good example of this, with steering wheels such as the rectangular one, which can already be mounted on the Model S, Model 3 and Model Y, and which has received criticism for its questionable practicality.
But also in things as relevant to safety as the use and management of the technology in your vehicles, as we can see when analyzing the last Christmas update of the software control of the central screen of the passenger compartment.
Must-have features impossible to find
As we all know, Tesla’s cockpits stand out for the absence of buttons and controls, centralizing all controls on the huge dashboard screen.
The problem is that this update released at Christmas (v11) included such spectacular features as the use of additional blind spot cameras or custom configuration of exterior lights, but also the hiding basic functions for driving safety hidden in hard-to-find menus and sub-menus.

When we drive, we need elements such as windshield activation, the defroster of the same or the heating of the seats are accessible to avoid distractions. However, Tesla has considered that it is a priority to be able to access Tesla arcade or Theater, items that cannot be used while driving.
At least it is possible to select some shortcuts for the home screen, although it is not possible to go back to previous versions of the system. Elon Musk acknowledged on December 30 that they were coming “Many improvements to the user interface”, although he did not specify when they would arrive.
Meanwhile, Tesla users will have to relearn how to use the controls of their vehicle after receiving an update very different from the previous one and, furthermore, quite unintuitive. Something that, in the case of a vehicle, is especially dangerous.
