The Acolyte, the next series in the Star Wars universe, will begin shooting next year. Before, detailed information of said production was leaked.
Star wars continues to grow non-stop as a franchise. On this occasion, it has expanded as a brand not only with films, a sector in which they already have great recognition, but also with series. From the alliance of Lucasfilm with Disney, the company has created a live-action show (The Mandalorian) and the second one is days away (The Book of Boba Fett). More are expected next year, among which stands out The Acolyte.
The program will focus on the time of the High republic. With this, it is expected that the events will focus around 200 years before the events of the Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
“The series will take place during the last days of the High Republic, roughly 200 years before the Skywalker Saga, a time period that has so far only been explored in books and comics. That said, the High Republic comics and books have only explored that era in its prime, while The Acolyte will be set when the period of prosperity comes to an end.
The time period in which The Acolyte takes place isn’t the only unique thing about this series. The new series will specifically explore the rise of the Dark Side in those final days of the High Republic era. The Acolyte gets a chance to explore the Dark Side in a way the franchise has never seen on screen before.”Confirms the source.
In turn, the name that its protagonist will have was announced. According to the comments of the base media, it was said that it will be called Aura. This is coupled with the information given months ago, in which it was mentioned that the protagonist will be a young black woman in her twenties.
However, it has been believed that this name may simply be a clue while choosing the officer. For its part, it was announced that filming of the project would begin in February 2022.
