Yuga Labs, creators of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), have acquired 10KTF; the NFT game founded by digital artist Michael Winkelmann aka Beeple.
10KTF is a browser-based NFT game that allows players to equip heroes with crafted items and equipment to complete missions. Missions reward players with free APE Coins, medals, materials, and airdrops.
The game also intends to include many items that an avatar might carry in the future; pairs of socks and backpacks are popular collection items in the game. Until now, fans have been wondering which metaverse platform these items will appear on. Now that the acquisition has been announced, some fans have begun to speculate that 10KTF items could be brought into Yuga Labs’ metaverse ecosystem, which has yet to be released.
A thread published on the official 10KTF Twitter account on November 14 showed pictures of 10KTF hero Wagmi-San drinking an elixir that was already appeared in the Otherside trailer. The last message in the thread is a retweet to Otherside’s account, which says “welcome to Otherside, Wagmi-San”.

Upon completion of the acquisition, the company said that Beeple will be hired as an advisor to Yuga Labs.
In March, YugaLabs announced that it was acquiring the NFT collections, Cryptopunks and Meebits, from pioneers Larval Labs. At the time, Larval Labs co-founders Matt Hall and John Watkinson said that while they would not be joining Yuga as part of the deal, “we saw in Yuga Labs the skill set and experience in this space that we lacked.”
