I wanted to see to what extent the good feelings of my first approach to Youtubers Life 2 were or were not correct. It’s not easy to take a game for granted when you can’t try to squeeze it out for several hours and, a couple of vice afternoons later, I’m happy to say that my suspicions weren’t misguided.
Youtubers Life 2 It does not lose the strategy and management component, but it does involve it in a kind of Animal Crossing of content creation that takes on much more weight and prominence than the fans of the first installment could foresee.
From strategy to RPG
The idea of veering into another type of simulator -one more social and focused on exploration– instead of just watching the numbers go up and down, it has its bad side and its good side. The first, at least in my case, is that I loved to focus on how the numbers went up and down without having to worry about almost anything else.
And that’s the optics that I go into Youtubers Life 2, aware of the change and concerned about how far I may miss a simpler approach.
Fortunately, that good side ends up weighing more than I expected and, four hours after grumbling about having to go buy a new console at the store instead of ordering it by parcel, I was completely plugged into the dynamics of the game.
For those who have not yet approached this new installment, or even come to the saga again, the idea in Youtubers Life 2 is bringing our own content creator to life and shaping your videos to the top.
What in the first game was kept in a room that you were improving to access more opportunities, in its sequel it becomes a whole city packed with shops, characters to befriend and special events that will bring everything from big game launches to E3 fairs.
Jumping from your room to a city implies, of course, that going from here to there takes on a greater weight in the adventure. With the excuse of being able to acquire a license of scooter In order to move faster than at the beginning of the adventure, the truth is that having to move from one neighborhood to another in search of a store or something to put in my mouth has not been particularly heavy for me.
A more ambitious simulator
Thanks must be given, especially, to the ingenious trend system that will invite you to raise the level of your content and presence in networks by pursuing the topics that are being talked about every day.
A fashion game that will make your visits to Newtube rise like foam, the arrival of a special character that will win you a good handful of followers if you manage to find him and take a picture with him, the opportunity to take advantage of a rumor from the video game world to make a videoblog in front of a poster related to the debate …
It seems to me that not only the evolution of the content creator that we knew at the time of the first Youtubers Life compared to now, but also the excuse to get out of the house and not limit yourself only to videos with gameplay.
You can focus only on that if you want, of course, but with that you would also be losing much of the fun of the game. Especially all the opportunities that open your eyes a little to go in search of new audiences and their corresponding income. That battle station full of lights and dolls is not going to pay for itself.
Being asked and sharpening it, I would appreciate it if the team would give a look at how certain activities manage energy expenditure. On more than one occasion I have been in a hurry after recording a video that followed the most powerful trend of the day and I have not managed to finish the work on time because the stores are closed and I cannot replenish energy.
My fault for not being proactive with food, of course, but in the few hours that I have been with the game it is the only downside that could see him in the long term. There is a desire to get serious with the analysis and take my youtuber to fame based on playing the latest news, conducting interviews on the street and taking pictures of cats. On October 19 we will be able to put it to the test with the launch of Youtubers Life 2 for 29.99 euros.
